The Saturday Evening Post (1923-26)

Teague’s first story illustration for The Saturday Evening Post ran on April 28, 1923 – The Death Warrant by Maximilian Foster.  During his first four years with The Post, Teague had about six assignments per year.  Teague’s initial assignments were a mixture of romances and adventures, with some maritime and western assignments as well.  Teague worked in oil during this period.  Below are some representative illustrations from this early period.  Story text has been removed for a cleaner presentation.
