Teague’s first major book illustration assignment came from Minton, Balch & Co. in 1925, for The Pilot by James Fenimore Cooper.  Originally published in 1824, The Pilot is a historical novel involving the mysterious sea pilot Mr. Gray (John Paul Jones under false name) off the coast of England during the American Revolution.  All of Teague’s work for the 1925 edition is presented below.
