Teague’s second major western serial assignment came at the end of 1939, again for Collier’s, for Saddle And Ride by Ernest Haycox. Saddle and Ride is a range war drama pitting Clay Morgan against the encroaching Ben Herendeen. By the time Teague began work on this series, he had moved to Encino (Los Angeles), and access to movie sets is clearly reflected in a few of the illustrations. The entire series of illustrations is presented below. Story text has been removed for a cleaner presentation.
