Collier's (1954-56)

Collier’s struggled to remain financially viable in the 1950’s, and changed from being published weekly to every 2 weeks in late 1953.  Teague continued to illustrate for Collier’s until its demise in early 1957.  The majority of Teague’s Collier’s assignments during the period 1954-56 were westerns.  Below is a good sample of Teague’s work for Collier’s during its final years, along with some material from the Teague archive.  One intriguing item in the archive is a preliminary illustration for a story with a working title of Evvie.  Collier’s folded before the story ran.  On the preliminary illustration, Teague signed it with his name as well as with his pseudonym Edwin Dawes.
