Teague’s output for Collier’s was reduced during the period 1937-1939.  He resumed work for The Post in 1937, pulling him in that direction.  Teague married and moved west to Los Angeles in 1938.  He had a large Collier’s assignment, Saddle And Ride, which began publication in late 1939 and is not covered on this page.  Below is a good sample of Teague’s work for Collier’s during this period.  It is hard to tell from this sample, but the Great Depression ended during this period, and color began to be used more liberally in reproducing illustrations.  At the bottom, I’ve included a preliminary work for The Tory from the Teague archive.  Story text has been omitted for a cleaner presentation.
