Teague illustrated 5-6 stories per year for The American during the period 1934-36. These fun and nostalgic illustrations do not attempt to present material with as much realism as is seen in Collier’s illustrations from the same period. The great majority of illustrations were given full color treatment. Teague alternated between oil and watercolor for The American during this period. Below is a good sample of illustrations from this period. Story text is omitted for a cleaner presentation.
