The Saturday Evening Post (1954-55)

During his final two years illustrating for The Post, Teague’s assignments were all westerns.  Teague produced a number of standout illustrations during this period, to include the first installment of Ordeal At Fort Reprisal by Paul Horgan, The Lost Wagons by Victoria Case, and both installments of A Killer Came To Town by Verne Athanas.  When Collier’s folded in early 1956, Teague decided that it was best to call it quits as an illustrator, and focus exclusively on fine art.

A good sample of Teague’s final work for The Post is presented below, along with some material from his archive.  Story text is omitted throughout for a cleaner presentation.
